Amanda Grimes serves as the Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer for Centre College. In this role, she is responsible for financial planning, fiscal oversight, budgeting, endowment management, capital projects and facilities.
Previously, Ms. Grimes worked for 18 years in the University System of Maryland, including serving as the Assistant Dean of Finance and Administration for the School of Public Health at the University of Maryland, and the Director of Administration and External Affairs for the National Socio-Environmental Synthesis Center (SESYNC), where she helped launch the university’s largest NSF funded research center. She also served in a similar capacity for the Chesapeake Biological Laboratory at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science. Ms Grimes has managed strategic financial planning, fiscal oversight, diverse capital projects, public outreach, and government affairs projects during her tenure at the University and previously served as a representative on the University System of Maryland Women’s Forum.
Prior to her career in higher education, Amanda worked in the financial and information systems technology fields as a Vice President for Bank of America, Director for First Data Investor Services Group, and Assistant Vice President for Fifth Third Bank. In these roles, she served as a national account relationship manager in capital markets, developed cash management products for mutual fund companies, and designed model office testing scenarios for the migration of financial plans.
Amanda received her BA in Economics and History from Centre College and her MBA from the University of Maryland, Global Campus.
